What To Explore On This Shore Excursions Tour?
First and foremost, please let us know your cruise’s name and number, arrival time to dock, and come back time to the cruise. In addition, you must provide your full name and phone number for our convenience to contact you. Then, our professional driver and tour guide will pick you up at the Chan May port. After that, we will start our Hue Shore Excursions tour.
On the way to Hue, we will pass through picturesque villages, lakes, lagoons, and even little hills. You can spend your time capturing many beautiful photos there. From that, you can understand the Vietnamese rice culture. We will visit famous tourist attractions on our shore excursion to Hue as follows:
Hue Imperial City (Hue Citadel)
When we arrive in Hue, we first go to the Hue Citadel, which covers 500 hectares and includes three areas: the Citadel, the Imperial City, and the Forbidden City.
We will walk around this enormous complex to visit Ngo Mon Gate (Noon Gate), Thai Hoa Palace, Hue Royal Theater, Truong Sanh Residence, and so on. Then, we will go to a local restaurant for lunch, where you will be able to enjoy some of Hue’s royal dishes.
As you know, Hue was the ancient capital of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802–1945)—the final feudal dynasty of Vietnam. Therefore, this flourishing dynasty left a lot of ancient buildings, temples, pagodas, mausoleums, and palaces, which contributed to Hue’s being recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1993. Thus, the private shore excursion is a great tour for you to explore the beautiful Hue Citadel.
Thien Mu Pagoda
Next, we keep going on our shore excursion from Chan May Port to Hue tour to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. We will take a Hue dragon boat trip on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda Hue. This pagoda is also known as Linh Mu Pagoda. Besides, it is the oldest Hue pagoda more than 400 years old.
When you visit this ancient sacred pagoda in Hue, you will have a great opportunity to admire the Phuoc Duyen Tower. This tower has 7 floors and is 21 meters in height. Plus, each floor of the tower has a statue of Buddha.
Furthermore, in the backyard of the pagoda is an old car that took the Most Venerable Thich Quang Duc to Sai Gon in 1963. He self-immolated that year to object to the policy of suppressing Buddhism by Ngo Dinh Diem’s government.
Tu Duc Tomb
Lastly, we will continue our shore excursion group tour by visiting the tomb of Tu Duc Emperor – one of the most beautiful mausoleums in Hue Royal Tombs. Upon arriving at the Tu Duc tomb, we will walk around to admire the unique beauty of the architectural works here.
The tomb extends nearly 12 hectares and has approximately 50 constructions such as lakes, palaces, pavilions, and so on. Furthermore, this mausoleum is situated in a charming natural area with a beautiful lake beside it.
In the past, Emperor Tu Duc would come here to relax and spend time with his empress and concubines throughout the summer.
Return To Chan May Cruise Port
After visiting Tu Duc Tomb, the driver will take you back to Chan May Port. The return journey normally takes around 1.5 hours.
We normally plan to arrive at the port at least one hour before the cruise ship’s scheduled departure. If the ship arrived late or the tour experienced an unexpected delay, the guide may shorten an attraction or adjust the itinerary to preserve this safety buffer.
Guests using the gate option will be dropped off at Chan May Port gate and walk approximately 500 meters back to the ship. Guests who arranged inside-port access will follow the confirmed inside-port return arrangement.
The Hue Shore Excursion From Chan May Port ends after your safe and timely return. Culture Pham Travel hopes the journey leaves you with memorable impressions of Hue’s imperial heritage, cuisine, and local culture
