Legend & History of Linh Ung Pagoda
Under the reign of Minh Mang emperor, the local fishermen in the Son Tra peninsula collected a small ancient and sacred Lady Buddha.
Believing this statue was a good omen, so the local fishermen and residents set up a small shrine to worship. Since then, the ocean waves gradually become quieter and softer, and this helped the fishermen to safely go out fishing and make a living.
Passing a long time with many up and down of historical periods, the support of fellow Buddhists, and the permission of the local government, the Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda was officially built in June 2004, and after 6 years of construction, it has been completed as today.
