Sapa is a beautiful highland town in Lao Cai province just about 280km away from Hanoi’s capital. Nowadays, you can reach Sapa easily by train or by car. It takes about 8 hours by tourist train and about 5 hours by private car. Sapa is a famous tourist destination in North Vietnam because of its majestic mountains and colorful ethnic minorities including Black Hmong, Red Dao, Day, Tay, and Xa Pho.

At 7.30 AM our professional driver will come to pick you up at your hotel In Hanoi and we start the Hanoi Private Tour for 3 days. It will take us about 5 hours to Sapa. We will choose the scenic way to Sapa via the newly built expressway of “Noi Bai- Lao Cai”. We can enjoy the nice views of the Northern part of Vietnam.
Along the nice way from Hanoi to Sapa, our driver will stop at a “rest stop” for you to take a break, drink some coffee, and take some beautiful photos of the northwest mountains such as the terraced fields, the locals working in the fields under the sunshine, and the fog.
After about 5 hours of driving, we will arrive in Sapa, check in at the hotel, and take a short break. We will have a lovely lunch in a local restaurant in Sapa.
After lunch, we will transfer you toward the southeast of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa Valley dotting remote hill tribe villages. Some highlights of the first-day tour are Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai village of Ta Van of Dzay people, Hmong people, the villages surrounded by fabulous rice terraces.
The local guide will take you on a short walk down to Lao Chai village through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people. We will visit local families which offer you a great chance to learn about their local house architecture which is full of their daily lifestyles and exclusive customs. You will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Northern area and the last trek is about a kilometer from the bus stop in Ta Van, we will drive back to Sapa around late afternoon.
In the morning, our Sapa Private Car and local tour guide will pick you up and we will take a cable car to conquer Fansipan Mountain. As you know, Sapa is known as Indochina’s rooftop at a height of 3,143 meters.
We will enjoy the cable car ride which got the record of the world’s longest and highest cable car. We will enjoy the unique views from above, and capture some great photos of the fantastic mountains. After all, we will take a cable car to go down, the Sapa private car will transfer you to have lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will transfer you to Sa Pa heaven’s gate which is 2,000 meters above sea level, the highest point of Vietnam’s roads. At the peak of the pass, you can enjoy Lai Chau’s valleys with your eyes. This is also a great place to capture the fabulous panorama of Fansipan Mountain.
Along the way, we will visit Silver Water Fall, the most imposing waterfall in Sapa. Then we keep doing our Sapa Private Tour uphill to Heaven’s Gate, the highest stretch of road in Vietnam. Enjoy a fantastic view over the valley! After all, we will drive back to your hotel.
On the last day of the Sapa Private Tour, we will explore Ta Phin village – Ta Phin village is one of the must-visit attractions in Sapa. Ta Phin is nestled in a fabulous and pristine valley, about 14 km in northeast of Sapa. This is a living area of the “Dao Do” ethnic group. Exploring Ta Phin, you can admire the hard work of Dao Do women in a very beautiful and colorful dress made from brocade, a traditionally hand-made product of local people here.
These people are quite friendly and hospitable so you can interact with them, and take some photos with them as well. In addition, by traveling to this local village, you will learn deeply about the beautiful customs, traditions, and culture of the ethnic communities.
In the Sapa Private Tour, we will have a nice lunch at a local restaurant before transferring you back to Hanoi. Along the way to Hanoi from Sapa, you can also ask the driver to stop at the beautiful roadside to admire the nice views of rice paddies, village houses, the Red River, misty mountains, etc.
